Daisychain ABC's Crewelwork Sampler

Even though I had plans to start working on this sampler
in March... that didn't happen.
by Alicia Paulson.)

Instead of actual stitching I did end up being able to find the threads that I wanted
to use for the sampler locally. At first using my DMC embroidery floss
stash was the plan however I changed my mind and decided to stick
to crewel wool as in the original but in colors that suited my needs.
I may not use them all in the sampler but, don't you think is nice to have
choices? Even venturing a bit outside the original colors
needed just to make it a bit fun and a bit more eye catching?
I most definitely think so! :-)
Most likely this sampler will see its start by mid May or
the beginning of June. I'm looking forward to working on it!
How many times (if any) have you have to postponed
crafty projects?

(This is a scheduled blog post. I'm still away.)

  1. You've picked really beautiful colours! I bought the pattern some time ago and it's slowly making its way to the top of my list. I'm a bit stumped on what background fabric to use though. I think that's what is holding me back!

    1. Thanks! I too had a difficult time deciding which fabric to use.
Hope you are able to find one that you like & suits you soon!

  2. Pretty, pretty colors! I too have this pattern in my "to do" pile, I've even picked out my colors, but that's as far as I've gotten. :(

I must admit to being a tad curious about your scheduled posts, your deadlines for finishing certain projects, when the time is right please do share! Send me an email. :)

    1. Thanks! I look forward to seeing your progress on it!
PS (I think you know already ;-)....!)

  3. You've chosen some lovely colours! I've had my eye on that pattern for a while. Oh, I always buy patterns or kits and plan to do them, then they sit for months or years!

  4. i think ~glenda has this pattern too, i don't ;) i've been off etsy for so long that i'd love a post with popular shops that are selling PDF embroideries, i know follow the white bunny and wild olive and big b do, but that's about all i know.

any further progress made with your quilt?

    1. I know, with so many pattern designers coming up it's kind of hard
      to keep up.

  5. I have that pattern too, I'm not sure when I'll get to it though! I look forward to seeing you start yours. I have just finished Alicia's Winterwoods ABCs cross stitch.

    1. I look forward to your progress whenever you decide working on it!
